Outcome #4
The first draft of a paper is essentially the bones of the paper, and having good bones is the start to a great paper. My process of peer review developed as I worked through more of my peer’s papers. The first peer review I corrected more sentence level mistakes, but when the second paper rolled around I started looking for larger more global issues that required attention. The PDF below shows my comments on Thomas’s meal analysis essay. Compared to the peer review I did for the first paper I had less comments, however, the comments that I made covered larger issues. For Thomas’s paper specifically I made points about connecting his thesis more throughout his paper. I provided him with some suggestions about cutting out some of his filler parts, and making his points more concise. The development of my peer review process developed mostly by seeing how helpful it can be to have someone else read through and have them give you their opinions regarding the framework of your paper.
